Saltwell Park bird walks
Join the Friends of Saltwell Park on our seasonal guided bird walks with ornithologist Michael Turner. Discover the ever changing variety of birds in the park through the seasons.
Meet at 10am by the lake in Saltwell Park, Gateshead.
The walk will last for approximately two hours.

THE RETURN OF Walk the Charlie Rogers Trail
Following the success of the first Charlie Rogers Trail Walk in April, and by popular demand, we are repeating this event.
Brian Rankin, local artist and author of ‘Pursued by Bulldozers’, takes us on a tour of some of the places in the park that provided the backdrop for some of Charlie’s many paintings and sketches. Brian will also give us an update on upcoming exhibitions and future projects.
We meet at the gates near the Little Theatre for an 11am start.

Saltwell Park Guided Tree Walks
Join the Friends of Saltwell Park for our guided tour and discussion of some of our park’s native and non-native trees. We will identify different species, learn about their characteristics, discover their benefits to both humans and wildlife and find out how they fit into our ecosystem.
Meet at 11am by the Little Theatre gate.
Guided walk around the lake.
The walk will last for approximately 90 minutes.

Heritage & History Guided Walk
Join us in Heritage Open Days week for a one-hour (approximately) stroll around Saltwell Park, exploring its fascinating history and focusing on some of its most historic and interesting Grade II listed buildings and statues.
Meet us at the Little Theatre entrance to the park at 11am.
